King of the Mountain Sports (KOM Sports) is located in Colorado Springs, Colo., 60 miles south of Denver, and the site of more than 40 national sports organizations. The company was founded by Steve Brunner, who has 19 years of integrated marketing experience, having worked for the U.S. Olympic Committee, Turner Sports, and Medalist Sports marketing and event management agency. KOM Sports, responsible for the marketing and communications programs for the Tour of Missouri, recently launched the marketing program for the 2008 September event. The campaign, which will integrate television, web, radio, print, and grass roots and streets campaigns, will feature 2007 Tour of Missouri champion George Hincapie.

KOM Sports recently completed the marketing and publicity for the 2008 Tour de Georgia, presented by AT&T. KOM Sports, in alliance with Medalist Sports, was responsible for the national and regional marketing, advertising, and branding for the seven-day international cycling event. KOM Sports worked with Stoneridge Group of Buford, Ga. on the branding of the event. KOM also worked with Medalist Sports on the sponsor activation program for the event, integrating promotion with more than 10 companies.
In partnership with Medalist Sports and Kent Gordis Productions of Brooklyn, KOM promoted the event through various platforms including live webcasts, same-day tape delayed broadcasts, a five-market regional radio promotion, national and regional magazine ads, official guide in VeloNews, custom map guide, and grass roots viral and street campaigns.
The event was viewed via live webcast in 117 countries, was shown nightly on FOX SportsSouth, and on Versus Network. The regional radio program (the event's first) was promoted in Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga, Greenville, and Augusta. KOM Sports also guided promotional efforts with 12 local organizing committees and via the web with AVF Creations of Greenville, S.C., another Medalist Sports partner.
In all,KOM Sports was responsible for generating an estimated 103 million impressions for the event, including 52 million for its presenting sponsor AT&T.
